The Holden Dealer Team sold the car to privateer John White in 1982.  In 1982 John White was equal 7th in the Australian Endurance Championship, coming second in Class B at the Gold Coast 300, Surfers Paradise International Raceway on 7th November and First in Class B at the Nissan-Datsun 300, Adelaide International Raceway on 5th December.

In 1983 John White finished 14th in the Australian Touring Car Championship compiling 28 points.  John White came 12th at Calder Park on 6th February, 15th at Sandown on 20th February, Retired at the Motorcraft 100 at the Adelaide International Raceway on 1st May and came 11th at Surfers Paradise on 15th May.

John White also competed in at least two rounds of the Australian Endurance Championship coming 14th in the Castrol 400 at Sandown on 11th September 1983 completing 108 laps as well as competing at Bathurst on October 2nd 1983 with Bernie Mc Lure, coming 25th overall and coming 4th in Class B.

In 1984 John White competed in the Australian Touring car Championship competing at Sandown in round 1 on 17th-18th February and the Sandown Castrol 500 on 9th September competing with Les Szreniawski completing 70 laps.

It was late in 1984 or early 1985 that John White purchased a new TG Gemini.  As you are aware no flares or body modification were allowed in Group A, therefore it was easier to build a new car rather than repair the front and rear wheel  arch cut-outs, not to mention the rear door and boot lid cut-outs.

The two cars (the old Group C and the soon to be new Group A) were placed side by side and the mechanicals from the older Group C,  TE Gemini were swapped (quite literally) with the mechanicals from the new Group A, TG Gemini.  This work was performed by John White, Jeff Conway and Paul Sabin.

The new Group A Gemini was from this point a separate entity to the older Group C Gemini.  The first two photos below are taken in the driveway of John Whites house just after he purchased the car from the Holden Dealer Team.

The following photos are from Bathurst in 1983
